Breaking news: Hadley have withdrawn their current plans, probably because they have been advised that they will not be approved.

It is probable that, among other issues, the plans did not conform to the latest fire regulations, and there were undoubtably other technical issues which meant that they were certain to be rejected.

The number and quality of objections from Penge residents also played a critical part in the withdrawal, although Bromley’s Planning Department will deny that, as the views of the public are generally held in very low regard by bureaucrats and planners alike.

The revised plans will most likely be submitted in November, and, if they are as grossly inappropriate as the current proposal, we will need to formulate additional objections. As soon as they are available, a summary will appear here and on Facebook.
